Since the onset of the pandemic more than a year ago, the category of startup companies collectively referred to as 'HealthTech' has been thrust into a global spotlight like never before. Unprecedented speed in the development of new disease treatments and preventions, in part through nascent platform-enabled biotechnologies like mRNA vaccines, as well as the sudden adoption of long-heralded TeleHealth tools, have already changed medicine forever.

But the flurry from the past year's leaps in innovation is only the beginning of the coming HeathTech revolution. As those at Andreessen Horowitz predicted even before COVID-19, "Biology is Eating the World," and these new technologies will fundamentally transform how we diagnose, treat, and manage disease.

On April 22, 2021 eight fast-growing medical and health technology startups from across the Founder Institute global portfolio pitched live to a panel of startup media judges at the first-ever Connect: HealthTech & Wellness event.

At the conclusion of the event, per the average ratings among the six media judges on the panel, Endiatx (FI Silicon Valley) was declared the Connect: HealthTech champion for its vision to revolutionize medicine using robotic pills.

Second place went to KnowRx (FI Austin) for the mobile application that allows doctors and patients to easily and efficiently manage medication treatments; and in third place was Resistomap (FI Helsinki), a startup aiming to mitigate antibiotic resistance through robust monitoring tools.
